So, you have considered running your own business – now what? This social entrepreneurship training lab provides teens with hands-on opportunities to transform ideas into newly launched businesses or business-like ventures designed to promote positive change in their communities. The first series of interactive sessions identify skills and interests, increase awareness of social and environmental issues that are personally significant, and develop basic business skills including idea development, marketing, money management, funding, business planning, and developing an “Elevator Speech.” Midway through the semester, student business teams pitch their innovative ideas to a supportive panel of experts to gain input and a chance to win seed money and other business-related prizes.

In the final series of classes, teams launch and test the Minimum Viable Product version of their products or services and gain coaching where concepts are polished and applied to the social enterprise start-up.

What will you do?

  • Design a business that uses your talents AND improves society!
  • Meet and learn from local entrepreneurs!
